Do you enjoy active tours and amazing views? Look no further and join us on a big boat kayaking trip to Angthong Marine Park! This famous national park consists of 42 islands with deserted beaches, limestone rock formations and crystal clear waters. Perfect for a kayaking trip.
We start this kayaking tour early but it’s a relaxing trip from start to finish. An air conditioned van will be waiting for you at the hotel reception for a transfer to Nathon Pier in the west of Koh Samui. Here we board our 23 meter long tour boat. On departure we’ll enjoy a light breakfast and head to Angthong Marine Park. The trip there takes between 1,5-2 hours, depending on the weather conditions. On arrival at Koh Tai Plao it’s time for our first kayaking trip!
Our kayaks are the world’s most popular brand called Malibu by Ocean Kayak. There are very easy to use and stable enough to carry 2 adults or two adults and a small child. At Koh Tai Plao we go kayaking accompanied by our guide who will help you navigating the kayak if necessary. Enjoy the beautiful overhanging rocks, tunnels and small caves. We also visit a hidden lagoon on this quiet island. Put your camera in one of our dry bags and enjoy the views. Do you want to go swimming or snorkeling as well? No worries, you can easily jump in from the boat!
Back on the boat we enjoy a Thai style buffet lunch while we head to Koh Mae Ko. Here you can climb up a short but steep stairway that leads to the beautiful Emerald Lake. Our last stop of the day is Koh Wua Ta Lap where you can choose your own activity. Explore the island by kayak and return to relax on the beach. Or if you feel fit enough: climb up to the viewpoint where you’ll get a very rewarding panorama view of all the 42 islands in Angthong Marine Park. The third option is to go trekking to the nearby Bua Bok Cave with its huge stalactites and stalagmites. The last option is to simply relax on the beach. Get a tan, go swimming or snorkeling or find a place under the palm trees for a relaxing end to the day.
At 15:00 we head back to Koh Samui. Enjoy a snack and fresh fruits on board while relaxing in a bean bag or under the roof in the shadow. The views on the way back are amazing as the sun slowly begins to set. At 17:00 we should be back on Koh Samui where our air conditioned minivans will bring you back to your hotel or villa. This day tour from Koh Samui to Angthong Marine Park takes between 9-10 hours and is packed with avitivities and sights to remember. Itinerary
We’ll meet at your hotel reception or villa between 07:00 and 08:00, depending on your location on Koh Samui. Our driver will pick you up in an air conditioned minivan. We drive to Nathon pier on the west side of Koh Samui.
We arrive at the boat where you can enjoy a light breakfast (croissants & fruits) and coffee, tea or water. At 8:00 we leave for Angthong Marine Park.
At 10:00 we should arrive at the Marine Park. We have our first kayaking session around the island of Koh Tai Plao. This is also an excellent swimming and snorkeling spot for those who prefer that. Or do both!
We sail to Koh Mae Ko and enjoy a Thai style lunch buffet onboard. We serve a number of typical Thai dishes with vegetarian and halal options available.
At lunchtime we enjoy a traditional Thai lunch combined with delicious BBQ dishes.
Arrival at Koh Mae Ko where you can hike up to the viewpoint at the spectacular Emerald Lake. Bring a camera to capture the great views here! When we’re finished we take the boat to Koh Wua Ta Lap where we should arrive at around 13:30.
At 17:00 it’s time to leave beautiful Angthong Marine Park. It takes about 1,5 hours to sail back and on the way you can slowly see the sun setting behind the horizon. Enjoy a refreshing drink, wine, beer or cocktail from the bar and make sure to make some photos on the way!
We arrive back at the pier in the west of Koh Samui. Our air conditioned minivans are awaiting you for the return transfer to your hotel or villa. You should be back home no later than 18:00. A day full of kayaking activities in Angthong Marine Park ends here.

For lunch we serve a delicious Thai style buffet on board. You’ll have several (halal or vegetarian) choices like curries, noodles and rice dishes. If you have any specific food allergies, please let us know!
It’s a light breakfast with croissants and juices, coffee and tea. If you plan to go kayaking the whole day it’s good to have a filling breakfast at your hotel prior to pick up.
It really depends on the weather conditions, but generally the seas are very calm between February and August. This is also the hottest period. If you enjoy cooler temperatures it’s best to make a booking for the kayaking tour between January and February. During rainy season (October-January) the seas get choppy and visibility will be less underwater.
The main purpose of this tour is to go kayaking around Angthong Marine Park. For families or groups of people with mixed interests besides kayaking there are also options to go swimming, snorkeling or trekking around the islands. That way everyone can decide on their own activity. It’s also possible to book a big boat tour with optional kayaking or speedboat tour with optional kayaking, but those trips will be less active than this one.

Good active trip. My wife enjoyed the beach with the youngest kids while I went kayaking with the oldest one. It isn’t too hard and should be suitable for anyone who is reasonably fit. The weather was good, that helped our stability in the water. Lunch was one of the best I ever had on these excursions.
