Do you want to experience something different than the usual tourist hot spots like Angthong Marine Park or Koh Tao? Then come fishing with us on this day tour from Koh Samui! This full day trip is a nice way of getting to know the underwater wildlife while fishing on open sea. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop off from your hotel or villa on Koh Samui (free from Maenam, Bophut, Chaweng, Plai Laem, Choengmon and Lamai; other areas for a small fee), fishing on a traditional Thai fishing boat, all fishing equipment, a seafood BBQ with the fish or squids you caught during the day, cold drinks and fresh fruits.
Our friendly guide and experienced fisherman can tell you all about the fish you will be angling in. You can expect many small fish and squids and occasionally a larger catch like Barracudas, Cobias, Trevally, Sailfish, Mackerel, Snappers, Groupers and many more. And the best thing is: during lunch we’ll put the catch of the day on the BBQ! Together with a nice selection of Thai side dishes and cold drinks. What to Expect from the Koh Samui fishing day trip
Go fishing with us in the sea near Koh Samui! We board a traditional Thai fishing boat (with toilet on board) with a maximum of 15 persons and go fishing in the waters around Koh Samui. The exact location depends on the weather and water conditions on the day, but the usual spots are Koh Tan and/or Koh Madsum in the south or Koh Som in the direction of Koh Phangan. You can expect to catch many small fish and if you’re lucky some bigger ones like Barracudas, Mackerel, Grouper or Trevally. This fishing day tour is a great way to get to know the local fish and ways of fishing in South Thailand!
Itinerary
We’ll meet at your hotel reception or villa on Koh Samui. We head to Big Buddha Pier (in the north) or Thong Krut Pier (in the south), depending on where the best fishing is that day.
The Thai fishing boat leaves from the pier and we head to the fishing spot somewhere on the open sea around Koh Samui. We provide the rods, lure and bait so you can go catch some fish! People who don't want to go fishing can go swimming or relax on board.
Ready to taste your own catch? Our guide will prepare a tasty BBQ lunch on board. If you want, we can put the fish you caught on the BBQ. If no one caught anything (that never happens though!), the captain will have enough seafood ready for all of you. Enjoy lunch!
At the end of the tour, it's time for our fishing boat to head back to the pier in the north or south of Koh Samui. The fishing tour ends with a transfer back to your hotel. A memory not to forget with this day full of fishing, eating and swimming on Koh Samui!

The fishing location depends on the weather and water conditions around Koh Samui. When the waters are calm on the north side, we will usually go to Koh Som, a small island north of Koh Samui. When the conditions are better in the south, we normally head to Koh Tan and Koh Madsum. In both locations there are many fish to be caught.
We have done this fishing tour a number of times. You will definitely catch a lot of smaller fish that inhabit the waters. Usually, you can also catch larger fish like a Grouper or Trevally, but they are more difficult to catch. It happens that one of the anglers gets lucky and you can enjoy your own large catch on the BBQ on board.
When it's just raining the tour will happen as the chances of catching larger fish increases during the rain. When the waves are too high, we will postpone or cancel the trip. In that case you can use your deposit towards a different date, different tour or we will refund you in full.
You can cancel your booking for free up until 24 hours in advance of the tour start date, no questions asked. We’ll refund you the deposit or you can choose to use it as an advance to a different booking or tour.
