Join us on a sailing cruise from Koh Samui to Angthong Marine Park by Red Baron Junk! This is one of the most relaxing ways to discover the most popular destination from Koh Samui. This day tour departs on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 08:30 and 19:00 and is filled with relaxing, eating, sightseeing and activities.
Angthong Marine Park, or the 42 islands, is the most popular destination for day tours from Koh Samui. Red Baron takes us from the pier in the north of the island in 1,5 hours to the park. On the way a tasty breakfast is served on board. Water, tea, coffee and soft drinks are included in the tour price. Relax, enjoy the breathtaking views or go sunbathing on the deck while we slowly make our way to Angthong.
On arrival you can enjoy the underwater life while snorkeling or go swimming in the clear waters. A hike up to the viewpoint at Koh Wua Ta Lap is definitely not to be missed. Visit the Emerald Lake which is connected to the sea by un underground tunnel and relax at the beach. A Thai style buffet lunch is served on board and you can enjoy various snacks and drinks on board. Alcoholic beverages are available at the bar for an extra fee.

What to expect during the Red Baron Angthong Tour
Red Baron Junk is one of the biggest yachts on Koh Samui. It is 30 meters long and can carry up to 90 passengers comfortably. On the upper deck you will find 10 sun beds with massage beds, cocktail tables and towels. The very large sails provide enough shadow if needed during the trip.
The main deck is where we serve breakfast, lunch and snacks. There is a large wooden table, 16 chais and comfortable side benches. The covered salon seats around 18 persons and is located next to a smaller Red Baron Lounge with space for 8 passengers. On the rear you will find a fishing platform with 3 seats, equipment and showers. You can also use these showers after swimming or snorkeling. Below the deck is another shower room and 2 house style toilets. This luxury trip on Red Baron is one of the best options to visit Koh Samui in a very relaxing and comfortable way!
Itinerary
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel or villa between 08:00 and 08:30, depending on your location. The air conditioned van will take you to the north shore of Koh Samui from where the Red Baron leaves to Angthong Marine Park.
The tour guides await you on the pier with a welcome drink. Red Baron leaves at around 08:30 and on board you will enjoy a rich breakfast. There is no need to have breakfast at the hotel prior to departure.
The boat takes around 1,5 hours to Angthong National Marine Park. On the way you can enjoy the breakfast and free coffee, tea, water and soft drinks. Relax on board and enjoy the beautiful scenery while we make our way to the first stop: Wua Ta Lap.
We arrive at Wua Ta Lap. This island has an amazing viewpoint at 500 meters high, from where the 42 islands can be seen. You might see some monkeys on the way! If you want, you can also stay on the beach and enjoy snorkeling or sunbathing.
At lunchtime we enjoy a traditional Thai lunch combined with delicious BBQ dishes.
The Red Baron brings us to beautiful Mae Ko island. Here we will explore the Emerald Lake, a green naturally formed lake in a crater. The salt water gives it its distinct green color. A number of stairs and walkways lets you visit the top of the crater to see the beautiful surroundings. On the beach you can enjoy snorkeling and swimming.
At 17:00 it’s time to leave beautiful Angthong Marine Park. It takes about 1,5 hours to sail back and on the way you can slowly see the sun setting behind the horizon. Enjoy a refreshing drink, wine, beer or cocktail from the bar and make sure to make some photos on the way!
We arrive back at the pier in the north of Koh Samui. Our air conditioned minivans are awaiting you for the return transfer to your hotel or villa. You should be back home no later than 19:00.

In the morning we serve a continental breakfast on board. Think of bread, eggs, jams, fruits and coffee & tea. During lunch there will be a delicious Thai style lunch buffet with different Thai curries, noodle dishes and rice. If you have any food allergies, please let us know.
Anyone who is in a reasonably good shape can make the way up to the viewpoint. It is best to wear sturdy shoes or trainers for the trip up, but fit people will be able to do it on flip flops as well. Please note that the hike uphill is not suitable for pregnant women, small children and elderly persons with existing conditions.
The best time to visit Angthong Marine Park is just after the rainy season between February and March. The temperatures are pleasant: blue skies and calm waters (apart from a rare weather disruption). The months of april and may are sunny and hot, the summer is a bit cooler. Angthong Marine park is closed yearly during most of the rainy season, between 1 november and 15 december.
Yes, babies and small children are welcome to join this tour. Please note that for children between 0-5, a THB 500 surcharge is added. Please let us know during checkout if you wish to bring any children below 6 years old.

It was a fantastic way to spend the day. The staff was excellent, and we were lucky to have good weather. Despite being in a captive audience situation, the prices on the boat and at the restaurant we stopped at were reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of complimentary soft drinks and the quality of the lunch provided.
There might have been 50 folks onboard, but the crew’s attention to each person was truly amazing. The staff working for these folks are exceptional. The food served onboard was very delicious, and you won’t go hungry, I assure you. And oh my, the National Park is an absolute must-see if you’re in Samui. My recommendation is to opt for the sailing boat, as the journey along the coast, both there and back, was truly enchanting.
