Description
Koh Samui is known for its amazing sunsets. Many times the sky lights up in bright red, orange and purple colors. The best way to see this spectacle is from one of the beaches on the west side of the island or from a ship. And the sunset dinner cruise on Red Baron is exactly that: a way to see the amazing sunset while enjoying a dinner buffet on board!
This tour runs every friday and sunday and departs from the pier in Bangrak, in the north of Koh Samui. In 3 hours the boat heads to Koh Som, a small island close to Samui on the way to Koh Phangan. We leave at 16:00 to allow enough time to enjoy the beautiful sunset. This tour includes return hotel transfers, a welcome drink, free soft drinks, water & tea, a buffet dinner, a variety of fresh fruits and a friendly English speaking guide.

What to expect during the Red Baron Sunset Dinner Cruise
Red Baron Junk is one of the biggest sailing yachts on Koh Samui. It is over 30 meters long and can carry 70 passengers. On the upper deck you will find 10 chaise lounges with cocktail tables, towels and massage tables. There is no need to bring your own towel on board. The main deck can seat 26 persons on dining tables and soft seats on the side. We will serve the buffet dinner from the main deck.
Below the deck you will find a covered lounge with seating for up to 18 persons. The bar is located here, where you can order a fresh fruit shake, cocktail or beers (not included in the tour price). 2 toilets and showers are located in the lounge as well. We’ll serve a variety of Thai dishes on our way to Koh Som. Think of rice dishes, curries, meat and fresh fish. There are halal and vegetarian options available during this tour.
Itinerary
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel or villa between 08:00 and 08:30, depending on your location. The air conditioned van will take you to the north shore of Koh Samui from where the Red Baron leaves to Angthong Marine Park.
The tour guides await you on the pier with a welcome drink. Red Baron leaves at around 08:30 and on board you will enjoy a rich breakfast. There is no need to have breakfast at the hotel prior to departure.
The boat takes around 1,5 hours to Angthong National Marine Park. On the way you can enjoy the breakfast and free coffee, tea, water and soft drinks. Relax on board and enjoy the beautiful scenery while we make our way to the first stop: Wua Ta Lap.
We arrive at Wua Ta Lap. This island has an amazing viewpoint at 500 meters high, from where the 42 islands can be seen. You might see some monkeys on the way! If you want, you can also stay on the beach and enjoy snorkeling or sunbathing.
At lunchtime we enjoy a traditional Thai lunch combined with delicious BBQ dishes.
The Red Baron brings us to beautiful Mae Ko island. Here we will explore the Emerald Lake, a green naturally formed lake in a crater. The salt water gives it its distinct green color. A number of stairs and walkways lets you visit the top of the crater to see the beautiful surroundings. On the beach you can enjoy snorkeling and swimming.
At 17:00 it’s time to leave beautiful Angthong Marine Park. It takes about 1,5 hours to sail back and on the way you can slowly see the sun setting behind the horizon. Enjoy a refreshing drink, wine, beer or cocktail from the bar and make sure to make some photos on the way!
We arrive back at the pier in the north of Koh Samui. Our air conditioned minivans are awaiting you for the return transfer to your hotel or villa. You should be back home no later than 19:00.

In the morning we serve a continental breakfast on board. Think of bread, eggs, jams, fruits and coffee & tea. During lunch there will be a delicious Thai style lunch buffet with different Thai curries, noodle dishes and rice. If you have any food allergies, please let us know.
Anyone who is in a reasonably good shape can make the way up to the viewpoint. It is best to wear sturdy shoes or trainers for the trip up, but fit people will be able to do it on flip flops as well. Please note that the hike uphill is not suitable for pregnant women, small children and elderly persons with existing conditions.
The best time to visit Angthong Marine Park is just after the rainy season between February and March. The temperatures are pleasant: blue skies and calm waters (apart from a rare weather disruption). The months of april and may are sunny and hot, the summer is a bit cooler. Angthong Marine park is closed yearly during most of the rainy season, between 1 november and 15 december.
Yes, babies and small children are welcome to join this tour. Please note that for children between 0-5, a THB 500 surcharge is added. Please let us know during checkout if you wish to bring any children below 6 years old.
