Are you ready for a spectacular adventure around and on top of Koh Samui? Join us on a Jeep safari tour around the island in an open top ex-army Jeep! On this trip you will see a number of highlights on Samui, such as grandfather & grandmother rocks, Guan Yu the huge Chinese warrior, Namuang waterfall (bring your swimwear!), the mummified monk and a trip up the mountain to see the most amazing viewpoint on the highest point of the island.
The Jeep safari tour around Koh Samui starts at around 10:00 with a pickup from your hotel and takes until 17:00 or 5:00 pm. During the tour you will see a number of locations that you normally wouldn’t see on your Koh Samui holiday as they are difficult to reach. Not with our Jeeps! We’ll take you up the mountain and through the jungle in and on our powerful cars. See the Magic Buddha garden, Wat Ti Pungon on top of the mountain and enjoy a lunch in one of Samui’s highest restaurants with a view. Join us on the Jeep safari around Koh Samui with daily departure!
What to Expect on the Jeep Safari tour
This Jeep Safari on Koh Samui takes you around the island to visit a number of highlights on the island. It is suitable for all ages, but be prepared that the ride up the mountain can be bumpy. That’s why we don’t allow pregnant women or children under 2 years old on this tour. You’ll get to see a number of sights around the island, including a delicious Thai style lunch on top of the mountain. Great views guaranteed! As usual, your tour includes pickup and drop off from and to your hotel, friendly guides and accident insurance. Enjoy the Jeep safari on Koh Samui!
Itinerary
We will pick you up from yout hotel between 09:30 and 10:00. The exact pickup time depends on your location. Our Jeeps will be there on the mentioned pickup time!
Our first stop of the day is at the famous grandfather & grandmother rocks north of Lamai. Hin Ta & Hin Yai are the Thai names and are represented by a rock in the form of a fallus and a hole. Great stuff!
Guan Yu is the next highlight of this tour. This huge statue of a Chinese warrior hasn’t been around long but is part of most tour itineraries around the island. When you get there you will understand: it’s huge and looks extremely powerful.
On our way to the south of Koh Samui we will visit the mummified monk. The temple is called Wat Khunaram and houses a monk that has been there since 1973. When he died is unknown, but his remains are remarkably preserved.
Also in the south, you’ll get to see the amazing waterfalls of Namuang. Especially during or after the rainy season the waterfall is pretty powerful. The pond below fills up and is an amazing place to enjoy a cooling swim. One of the better photo opportunities of this tour.
The jeep takes us up the mountain for a delicious Thai style lunch at one of the highest restaurants on Koh Samui. Enjoy a number of typical Thai dishes and the amazing 270 degrees viewpoint.
After lunch it’s time to hit the road again. We’ll visit the magic Buddha garden with 21 Buddha statues in different forms and poses. It’s hard to get to, but on this tour you will most definitely make it!
At the highest point of the island we will visit the giant Buddha at Wat Pra Putta Teepangkorn. You can climb up the statue or stay at the temple. From both locations you will have an amazing view over most of Koh Samui. Great photo opportunity here!
At the end of the day it’s time to head back down the mountain. Our last stop is the Big Buddha at the northeastern point of Koh Samui. This is one of the most famous points on the island and a must see on your visit. After the Big Buddha it’s time to head back to your hotel. Our army Jeep will drop you off at around 17:00, just in time for dinner. We hope you had an amazing day!

For lunch there are a number of Thai dishes available. The buffet is suitable for vegetarians and muslims (halal). If you have any food allergies, please let us know prior to the start of the tour so we can prepare accordingly.
As the trip up the mountain can be bumpy, we don’t recommend to join if you are pregnant, over 70 or someone with existing health conditions. We don’t allow children under 2 on this tour for the exact same reason.
If you wish to swim at the waterfalls, please bring a swimsuit and a towel. The conditions for swimming are usually the best during or after the rainy season (october-january) and the worst in the hot season (march-may). It will never be completely dry, but keep in mind that the water level may be lower during the hot season.
You can cancel your booking for free up until 24 hours in advance of the tour start date, no questions asked. We’ll refund you the deposit or you can choose to use it as an advance to a different booking or tour.

Booked this trip by myself as the private one was a bit too expensive. I joined a nice group of around 15 persons in 2 different jeeps. You’ll get to see places you normally wouldn’t especially high up in the hills. Fot that this tour is worth booking.
